Blockchain Foundations

Shared ledgers, blocks, nodes, wallets, transactions, and when blockchain is the wrong tool.

Learning outcome

Explain blockchain without hype; distinguish public/private data; trace a transaction conceptually.

Study sequence

  1. Concept map: define the system before touching tools.
  2. Evidence lab: collect observable data and record sources.
  3. Hands-on sandbox: use local/testnet resources before real assets.
  4. Security review: identify trust boundaries and failure modes.
  5. Decision memo: state assumptions, invalidation criteria, and what remains unknown.

Required evidence

Every exercise ends with an artifact: transaction hash, contract test, architecture diagram, market worksheet, audit note, or incident runbook. Screenshots alone are not sufficient where machine-readable evidence exists.

Risk rule: Never infer safety from price action, follower counts, artwork, a verified social account, or a green candle. Verify contracts, liquidity, supply/control, permissions, counterparties, and execution conditions separately.
